Duracell battery backuo

We live in Florida and needed a solar battery power backup for our electronic devices. This was a perfect match. Also used for our kitchen electric appliances. Frying pan, toaster, coffee pot, grill. All electric appliances.

Excellent product at a great price!

I couldn't be any happier with my purchase of the Duracell Power 1000 w/ solar panel. You have dropped my heart rate by about 25 bpm. Thank you!

Great device and seems to be well made

Can't give a full review as have not put the unit to use. I've only charged it, tested out a few low draw appliances and even put out the solar panel and ran a test to see how long it took to charge. So far, so good.
I will work for my needs as an emergency back up power source. After doing lots of research I realize this device is "older" technology already compared to newer longer life batteries and much faster charging devices. But you'll pay double for that. If you need a basic power source and are price conscious, this is a good device.

Love it but it could charge better

I live in New Orleans and I’m bracing for what could be a very active hurricane season. A gas powered generator isn’t practical for me so I decided to go with a solar rechargeable Duracell PowerStation, choosing Duracell because it’s a name I trust. I purchased the 1000w + 100w solar panel. (NOTE: If you buy the combo, make sure the website takes you to the correct page. After clicking on “ADD TO CART” I ended up only getting the PowerStation and not the included solar panel and didn’t realize it. However, I will say Duracell was very good about correcting the error and the solar panel arrived some days later. Thank you, Customer Service.)

Fully charged, the PowerStation will do what I need it to do – will run a low wattage lamp, a small electric fan and assorted other very small appliances, as well as charge my cell phone and tablet. Depending on how much wattage you use, as well as how continuously you run it, the Power Station is effective for several days.

In taking it out to charge with the solar panel I will say you need to check on it regularly to make sure it is still charging. I found I had go out several times, unplug it from the solar panel and plug it in again. For some inexplicable reason it stops charging from time to time, despite the fact that that the panel is in full sun and properly faced. No big deal – just have to keep checking on it. It took 11 hours to go from zero to 100% but a lot of that that had to do with the fact that if frequently stopped charging without my realizing it. (I doubt I’ll let it go to zero, often and I know I know to keep a close eye on it.)

All in all, I’m extremely happy with my purchase and I have some peace of mind if a hurricane deprives me from power for a week or two I will have necessary comforts. (It won’t run my fridge, of course, and even though it might power a small one, I can do with ice from FEMA and ice chests.)

Thank you, Duracell!
